Mrs. Willie Mae Bradley Sanders, 86, of Bostic, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Hospice of Wendover, Shelby. She had been a resident of Fair Haven Home for the past year.
Mrs. Sanders was born on June 23, 1925 in Rutherford County to the late William Alfred Bradley and Dorcas Leola Bridges Bradley. Her family was extremely important to her and she always put the needs of her family before those of her own. She was a devoted mother and wife, and will live forever in the hearts of her family. Willie Mae retired from Tanner in Rutherfordton. She was a member of Walls Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 55 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Atwell David Sanders; by five brothers, Bernice, Carl, Cloyd, Robert and Gerald; and by a sister, Sadie Davis.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Leich and her husband John, of Winterville, NC, and Sandra Kellogg and husband Stephen, of Shelby; two sisters, Tewie Melton of Bostic, and Geraldine Little of Statesville, NC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2012 at Walls Baptist Church. Rev. David Philbeck and Rev. Jimmy Black  are to officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Visitation will be from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm Friday at the church prior to the service.  The body will lie in state during the visitation hour.
