William Russell Ray
Mr. William Russell Ray, 67, of Cherry Mountain, died on his birthday, Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Hospice House, Forest City.
He was the son of Mary Ann Wharton Ray of Aiken, SC and the late James Ray. Billy was a Vietnam Army Veteran and a South Carolina State Trooper from 1973 to 1983 and stationed in Lexington County.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kimberly Ray; a stepson, Nicholas Workman of the home; and two brothers, Joel Ray and Jeff Ray, of Aiken, SC.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 6:00 pm Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul White, Jr. will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
