Warren Powell

Mr. Warren G. Powell, 77, 0f Spindale, died Monday, July 30, 2012 at Hospice House, Forest City.
He was the widower of Ann Duncan Powell, and son of the late Horace and Jeanette Robbs Powell. A veteran of the US Navy, he was a member of Golden Valley Missionary Methodist Church and retired from Watts Regulator.
He is survived by his daughters, Lynn Burgess and her husband Danny, of Spindale, and Julie Bumgarner and her husband Rev. Danny Bumgarner, of Sunshine; four brothers, Jerry Powell and Mike Powell, both of Forest City, and Larry Powell and Perry Powell, both of Cliffside; two sisters, Rhonda Beheler of Forest City, and Debbie Moose of Statesville; five grandchildren, Justin Burgess and his wife Anna, Megan Parris and her husband Trent, Leslie Bostic and her husband Billy, Anna Bumgarner, and Danielle Guffey and her husband Anthony; three great grandchildren, Jackson Burgess, Baylee Bostic, and Abigail Guffey.
The Funeral will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Golden Valley Missionary Methodist Church. Rev. Lamar Hewitt and Rev. Troy Dorsey will officiate. Burial will follow at the First Baptist Bostic Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
The visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Wednesday night at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
