Vernon Kenneth "Ken" Eplee, 78
Mr. Vernon Kenneth "Ken" Eplee, 78, of Bostic, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Holly Springs Nursing Home.
Ken was the son of the late Alfred and Minnie Bell Whiteside Eplee, and was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Eplee; his brother, William "Bill" Eplee; and his sister Helen Gilbert. He was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church. He retired from UPS after 31 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Butler Eplee; a son, Gary Eplee and wife Kim, of Ellenboro; and his 2 grandchildren, Haley Eplee and Hunter Eplee.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Glenwood Baptist Church. The Rev. Jason Toney and Rev. Paul White, Jr., will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Brock Wright, Zack Wright, Branson Steed, Matt Butler, Greg Butler, and Ty Houser.
The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Friday at Glenwood Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glenwood Baptist Church, 461 Bostic Sunshine Hwy, Bostic, NC 28018.
