Ruth Waters Pope, 91

Mrs. Ruth Waters Pope, 91, of  Sunshine, died Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Ruth was the widow of Lee A. Pope, and a daughter of the late Tess & Eva Waters. She was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. She also operated a day care center for over 40 years.
She is survived by her son, Larry Pope; and her daughter, Caroline Pope, both of Sunshine; her sister, Billie Sue Newton of Forest City; and her 2 grandsons, Drake Johnson and Bryce Johnson.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2018 at Sandy Level Baptist Church. The Rev. David Barton and Rev. Robert Hensley will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Rob Killian, Arnold Waters, Tommy McCurry, Mark Hollifield, Wade Hollifield, Rick Melton, Charlie Murray, and Joey Murray.
The Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm Saturday at the church prior to the service.
