Roy Bowen, 59
Mr. Roy Bowen, 59, of Forest City, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at Henderson Care Center, Forest City, surrounded by his family.
He was the son of the late Glen and Rosie Baynard Bowen, and was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Hoyle Bowen and Jimmy Bowen.
He is survived by his son, James Roy Bowen, Jr. of Morganton; his daughters, Jessica Lynn Bowen of Morganton, and Michelle Valazquez of Marion; his 2 sisters, Barbara Smith and husband Paul, and Lorie Sullivan and husband Randy, all of Rutherfordton; his 3 brothers, Bobby Bowen and wife Tammy of Rutherfordton, Jerry Bowen of Shelby, and Ronnie Bowen of Forest City; a very special friend, Julie Driver; several nieces and nephews; and there are 14 grandchildren.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Morrison and Rev. Dennis Yelton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bowen Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Glen Fowler, James Smith, Johnny Pope, Dylan Morrison, Paul Smith, Jr., and Chris Hutchins. Honorary pallbearers are Candy Fowler and Harley Lee.
The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Monday night at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
