Mr. Ronnie W. Allen, 79, of Sunshine, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
He was the son of the late Champ Allen and Ruth Carver, and was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Charles Allen; a brother, Bobby Ray Allen; and a great grandson, Caleb Hunter Toney. Ronnie was a devoted member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church, and had been a longtime carpenter. He  was a US Navy veteran of the Korean war.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Duncan Allen; two sons, Richard Allen, and David Allen and his wife Rhonda, all of Sunshine; a daughter, Brenda Powell of Albuquerue, NM: a sister, Virginia Mathis of Rutherfordton;  a half brother, Champ Willis Allen and his wife Laura, of Gilkey; three half sisters, Penny Jones and her husband Randy, of Forest City, Sherry Allen and her husband James, of Ellenboro, and April Allen, of East Lansing, MI; there are seven grandchildren, Gena Toney and her husband Jason, Billie McEnnerney and her husband Devin, Cody Allen, Paula Allen, Louie Allen and his wife Kim, Dustin Allen, and Wendy Allen; there are eight great grandchildren, Anna Toney, Andrew Toney, Abby Toney, George McEnnerney, Arthur McEnnerney, Lily Allen, Nick Gregory, and Melanie Allen.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Mount Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Eugene Passmore, Rev. Jason Toney, and Rev Kevin Towery will officiate. The Rutherford County Honor Guard will provide Military Rites at the grave. Pallbearers will be Cody Allen, Dustin Allen, Louie Allen, Steve Duncan, Tommy McCurry, Joe Cook, and David Allen.
A Visitation will follow the graveside service and will be held in the Mount Harmony Baptist Church fellowship hall.
Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
