Robert Gene "Bob" Waters, 83
Mr. Robert Gene "Bob" Waters, 83, of Bostic, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Hospice House, Forest City.
Robert was born in Rutherford County on December 13, 1934, he was the son of the late Norris Waters and Nixie Biggerstaff Waters, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Michael Waters; his sisters, Betty Secker and Francis Waters; and his brothers Jim and David Waters. Robert was a graduate of Sunshine High School, a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church, a member of Masonic Lodge #535 and served in the US Army for 2 years. He was a truck driver for many companies and a logger for Waters Lumber Company.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ester Waters; his daughters, Robin Dodson of Bostic, and Angela Waters of Nashville, TN; his granddaughters, Hannah Grubb and husband Kolby, and Alexandria Hutchins and husband Brandon, all of Bostic; a great grandson, Logan Grubb; his brother, Edward "Bud" Waters of Bostic; and his sisters, Nancy Upton of Bostic, and Martha Hood of Mint Hill.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service. The Rev. Paul White, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sandy Level Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Benjamin Hood, Johnny Waters, Brandon Hutchins, Brad Secker, Josh Padgett, and Lloyd Melton.
The Visitation will be from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
