Rev. Perry Jones, 82

Reverend Perry  Buren Jones, 82, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
He was a son of the late Ralph Pinckney and Kate Keever  Jones and was born in Ellenboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Daves Jones; nine brothers, Pinckney, Charles, Henry, Lee, John, Jerry, Clifford, and David Jones, and Ray Keever; two sisters, Annie Belle Robbins and Katie Lou Wells; and a stepdaughter, Barbara Collins.
Reverend Jones was a graduate of Limestone College and held a Masters of Divinity from Wake Forest Baptist Seminary. He was an active minister for 47 years, serving as a pastor of 7 Baptist churches, and Spindale Church of the Brethren. His greatest joy was serving the Lord and being a Pastor to all people. He also served in the US Army for 2 years as a chaplain. He was an active member of Spencer Baptist Church in Spindale.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce DeLong Jones; his son, Timothy (Lisa)Jones; his daughter, Ann (Bruce) Caldwell; his 2 stepsons, Scott (Lynn) and Mark (Mariel)Brantley; there are 6 grandchildren, Julie and Olivia Caldwell, Mallory Crayton, Brantley and Reagan Collins, and Zachry Brantley; his brother, Bob Jones(Wilma); his 2 sisters, Emma Sue Ayers and Joan Blankenship; his brother-in-law, Floyd Wells; his sister-in-law, Linda Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, May 16, 2020 at the Walls Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Bruce Caldwell will officiate. Anyone who wishes to attend is asked to please practice social distancing.
