Peggy Wright, 74
Peggy Wright, 74, of Bostic, died Friday, November 20, 2020.
She was the daughter of the late Walter and Sarah Freeman, and was also preceded in death by a brother, Neal Freeman. Peggy was an elementary school teacher and taught most of her 34 years at Forest City Elementary. She was an active member of Second Baptist Church of Rutherfordton, where she dearly loved her Sunday School class and serving Wednesday night meals.
She is survived by her son, Greg Wright of Rutherfordton; her daughter, Renea Mellis and her husband Robert, of Wilmington; her brother, Rusty Freeman of Golden Valley; and her grandchildren, Nicholas Mellis, Ryan Mellis, Callie Mellis, and Noah Wright.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Sandy Level Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Keith Stephenson will officiate. The family requests that all attendees wear masks to the service.
Friends may visit from 2 pm to 6 pm Sunday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home to sign the register book and pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to RS Central Men's Basketball, 641 US Hwy 221 North, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
