Norris Gettys, 77
Mr. Norris Eugene Gettys, 77, of Sunshine, died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
He was the widower of Edna Conner Gettys, and a son of the late Glenn and Cora Gettys. In addition, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Marjorie Montieth and Doris Riddle. He was a faithful member of Walls Baptist where he had served as a Deacon. Norris retired years ago from Thompson Contractors.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Andrea Gettys Randall of Charlotte, and Mary Ellen Gettys of Sunshine; his sister, Donnie Lovelace of Sunshine; his grandsons, Brock Randall and Carson Randall; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, March 11, 2019 at Walls Baptist Church. The Rev. David Philbeck and Rev. Alan Beane will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Randy Ponton, Brock Randall, Carson Randall, Dean Randall, Clay Randall, and Doyle Hollifield.
The Visitation will be from 7 pm until 9 pm Sunday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
