Mattie Elizabeth Dills "Beth" Pettit, 74

Mattie Elizabeth Dills "Beth" Pettit, 74, of Forest City, died Friday, February 18, 2022.

She was the widow of James Dale Pettit, and a daughter of the late Marvin E. Dills and Ella Mae Millwood Dills. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Michelle Pettit. Beth was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County and a 1965 graduate of Chase High School. She worked at Stonecutter Mills for 20 years and Walmart Pharmacy for 12 years before retirement. 

She is survived by her son, James "Jamie" Pettit, Jr. of Forest City; her daughter, Brooke Pettit Watson and her husband Chuck, of Forest City; her sisters, LInda Dills Blanton and her husband Joe of Rutherfordton, and Ina Melissa Dills Ruppe of Boiling Springs, SC; her brother, Melvin Dills and his wife Barbara, of Forest City; her grandsons, James Pettit III and his wife Elizabeth, of Forest City, Colby Lee Pettit and his wife Jessica, of Spindale, and Andrew Forrest Watson; granddaughters Brianna Elizabeth Watson, Kayla Watson; great granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Pettit; great grandsons Cooper Dale Pettit and Aaydin Montecuollo; there are 9 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews. 

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Missionary Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Jason Madison will officiate. Burial will follow in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Monday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
