Mary Toney Jones, 92

Mary Toney Jones, 92, of Sunshine, died Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Mary was the widow of the late James A. Jones, and a daughter of the late W.J. and Bertha Toney. She was the oldest member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, where she played the piano for more than 60 years, and as recent as Sunday, December 24th. Mary  also enjoyed crocheting, had a passion for gardening and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Beyond her faith and many talents, her heart overflowed with love for her family.

She is survived by her 3 children. Jimmie Jones of Marion, Davey Jones and wife Vicky, of Mooresboro, Cindy Ledbetter and husband Kris, of Nebo, and her sister, Maude Towery of Duncans Creek. She has 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, January 1, 2024 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. The Rev. Stephen Cooper will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Gabriel Jones, Jayce Gibbon, Jared Jones, Brandon Revis, Joshua Jones and Caleb Jones. Hudson Gibbon will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. 

Visitation will be from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm Monday at the church prior to the service. 

Memorials may be made to Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 5083 Bostic Sunshine Highway, Bostic, NC 28018.
