Mrs. Martha "Geneva" Toney, 92, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Fair Haven, Forest City.
She was the widow of Jack Toney, and they had shared 53 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Bertha Ridings Robbins, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Toney and a great grandson, Bryce Kesterson. She was a graduate of Sunshine School and retired from Stonecutter Mills. Geneva was a member of Ross Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling and collecting souvenir spoons, crocheting, watching Braves baseball and family gatherings.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie Toney and his wife Gilda, Danny Toney and his wife Vickie; three daughters, Sharon Kesterson and her husband Joey, Tammy Skipper and her husband Kevin, all of Forest City, and Lora Hardin and her husband Grant, of Lancaster, SC; a sister, Dorothy Toney of Sunshine; a brother, Hubert Robbins of Fingerville, SC; there are 11 grandchildren, Geoffrey Toney, Shannon Marlowe, Dusty Toney, Stephanie Smith, Jill Kesterson, Ashley Greene, Kristal Haston, Malissa Metcalf, Brandi Hardin, and Tyler Hardin; there are 13 great grandchildren, Skyler, Michale, Kaden, Cole, C.J., Taylin, Madilynn, Izzie, Hannah, Sadie, Thorin, Emily and Chloe.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Ross Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Earl Godfrey and George Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Dustin Toney, Christopher Greene, Brent Haston, Kenny Toney, Tyler Hardin, and Travis Smith.
The Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm Saturday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
