Major McArthur "Mack" Smith
Mr. Major McArthur "Mack" Smith, age 60, of Melton Road, Golden Valley, died Sunday, February 22, 2004 at his residence.
He was the son of Geneva Ann Johnson Smith of Golden Valley and the late Major George Smith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Gene Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Kelley Smith, two daughters, Janie Queen and Julie Hudgins of Golden Valley, three sons, Arthur Smith, Chris Smith, and Marty Smith, all of Golden Valley. One sister, Doris Elliott of Mill Spring, five brothers, Dewey Smith, Harold Smith, Morris Smith, and Clay Smith, all of Golden Valley, and J.B. Smith of Shelby. Four half brothers and 3 half sisters. Nine grandchildren, Brittany, Kimberly, Jessica, Aaron, Dillen, Hope, Sarah, Courtney, and Mason.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Queen and Rev. Wayne Toney will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Golden Valley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City,NC 28043.
