Lox Eugene Ayers, 91

Lox Eugene Ayers, 91, of Bostic, died Tuesday, June 7,  2022.

He was the widower of Ann Ayers, and a son of the late George and Daisy Vickers Ayers. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Ayers and Jay Max "Pete" Ayers. Lox retired from Cone Mills and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean war, where he received a Purple Heart and other awarded medals for his service.

He is survived by his four daughters, Donice Hastings of Rolesville, Sheila Ayers of Durham, Vickie Ayers of Shelby, and Elizabeth Brown of Hendersonville; a sister, Linda Eacho of Bostic; three brothers, Sherrill Ayers of Bostic, Wray Ayers of Satellite Beach, FL, James Ayers and his wife Mary Ruth of Rutherfordton; there are four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Emma Sue Ayers of Ellenboro.  

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, June 10, 2022 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul White, Jr., will officiate and Vickie Ayers will provide a Eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard, with Taps played by great great nephew Jackson Byers. Pallbearers are Garrett Ayers, Tony Wall, Mike Ayers, Jerry Ayers, Chris Ayers, and Billy Freeman. 

The Visitation will be from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm Friday at the church prior to the service.
