Larry Clyde Waters, 80

Larry Clyde Waters, 80, of Bostic, died Friday, August 25, 2023 at Autumn Care of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Waters. He was a son of the late Grady and Addie Smith Waters. Larry was a US Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He worked for over 20 years at J.C. Cowan plant and was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. 

He is survived by his daughter, Claudia Squires and her husband Junior, of Ellenboro; his son, Jeffrey Waters and his wife Amanda, of Bostic; his brothers, Steve Waters and his wife Joyce, of Shelby, and Paul Waters of Shiloh; he had 7 grandchildren, Jordan Waters, Rebecca Waters, Joshua Waters, Patrick Waters, Adam Squires, Justin Squires, and Makayla Squires.

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Rev. Nancy Sehested and Rev. Chris Glawson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Jordan Waters, Patrick Waters, Todd Blankenship, Scott Bradey, Jared Allen, and Kyle Hutchins. 

The Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm Monday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Oak Grove UMC Kitchen Fund, 1507 Oak Grove Church Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040.
