Kenneth Wayne "Lil Wayne" Melton, Jr.

Kenneth Wayne "Lil Wayne" Melton, Jr., 49, of Ellenboro, died Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Atrium Health Cleveland.

He was the son of Wayne Melton, Sr. of Ellenboro and the late Yvonne Mace Melton. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Misty Dawn Melton. Wayne attended Rutherford Life Services in Spindale. He loved cats, watching race cars, and listening to country music.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his uncle, Michael Melton of Bostic; his aunts, Diane Melton Penson of Bostic, and Helen Mace of Sandy Mush;  and a number of cousins and friends who will dearly miss him. 

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church. Preston Holland will officiate and Dr. Bobby England will provide a Eulogy. Pallbearers are Chris Moore, Tayshaun Whiteside, Ranger Freeman, Creed Freeman, Benson Freeman, Jacob Penson, Sonny Penson, and Clive Moore will serve as an honorary pallbearer. 

The Visitation will be from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm Friday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rutherford Life Services, 230 Fairground Road, Spindale, NC 28160.
