Kenneth Bailey, 76

Kenneth Neal Bailey, age 76, of Bostic, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Kenneth, fondly known as Ken, was a son of the late Howard and Juanita Hollifield Bailey, born on September 27, 1947. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ann Moss Bailey, whom he loved and missed very much. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Steve Bailey.

He is survived by his daughters, Maria McCabe and her husband Shawn, of Spring City, TN, and Rene’ Toney and her husband Bryan, of Mooresboro; his sister, Judy Payne (Perry Boyd) of Forest City; and his four grandchildren, Dr. Caitlin McCabe Kile and her husband Noah, Blake McCabe, Alexis Grayson, and Cole Grayson.

Kenneth dedicated many years of service as a salesman at Allied Industrial Supply, Dixie Industrial Supply, and First Industrial Supply. Before this, many in the community will remember the cherished moments spent at Bailey’s Poolroom, with Kenneth as the former owner.

In his free time, he enjoyed playing softball and muskie fishing. He spent countless hours on the water with his family and friends. His tales of "the one that got away" will be retold with fondness and laughter for years. He was an avid member of the Western North Carolina Muskie Club. In his role as "Papaw," he passed on his love for these pastimes to his grandchildren.

Kenneth, also known as “Daddy” by his daughters and "Papaw" by his grandkids, was a man whose passion for life was evident to all who knew him. His laughter and light shone brightly in the many lives he touched on the softball fields, in the pool room, and on the lake where he pursued his passion for muskie fishing.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, February 5, 2024 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The Rev. Neil Murray will officiate. Pallbearers are John Haskell, Rick Hollifield, Ricky Weeks, Doug Murray, David Hollifield, Ethan Jones, and Phillip Glover.

The visitation will be from 3 pm to 5 pm Sunday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
