Kathie Mae Buckner

Kathie Mae Buckner, 58, of 219 Holland Street, Forest City, died Monday, October 11, 2021.

She was the daughter of the late Etta Lee Blanton and Sherman Eugene Blanton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Malcolm Bruce Landers III. She was a member of the 1981 Class of East Rutherford, and a member of Henrietta First Baptist Church. Kathie traveled the globe with Richard Simmons and served as a counselor in his organization. She would write down her goals on paper and commit herself to doing those things important to her.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Buckner; her brothers, Jeff Blanton and his wife Cathy, and Brad Blanton and his wife Tracy; and her 6 nieces.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 5:00 pm Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Ricky Poteat and Rev. Jamie Johnson will officiate.
