Judy Brackett Hunt, 59

Mrs. Judy Brackett Hunt, 59, of Golden Valley, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 following a period of declining health and illness.
She was the daughter of Margaret Cook Brackett of Golden Valley and the late George Edwin Brackett, Sr.. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Lee "Bubba" Hunt; a brother, George Edwin "Eddie" Brackett, Jr.; and a son-in-law, Jeff Gurr. Judy was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Golden Valley. She enjoyed church from her childhood and many years of her adult life at First Broad Baptist Church, later joining Mt. Pleasant after Joseph's injury. For many years Judy put her own needs aside to care for Joseph who was injured in an auto accident. She enjoyed camping with her family, working jigsaw puzzles, and especially all things about family and friends. Judy never met a stranger and was always willing to help in any way she could.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Joe Hunt; her daughter Monica Gurr; and her stepson Charlie Hunt, both of Sunshine; her 2 sisters, Christine Head and husband Randy, and Ann Self and husband Randy, all of Golden Valley; 3 brothers, Marty Brackett of Golden Valley, and Tim Bracket and Freddie Brackett, both of Forest City; there are 5 grandchildren, Matt and Daniell Gurr, Cheyenne Yelton, Brantley and Grace Gurr; there are 4 great grandchildren and one on the way.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Friday, December 11, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Ruppe and Rev. Charles Battle will officiate. Pallbearers are Mathew Gurr, Freddie Brackett, Randy Head, Jerry Allan Hunt, Jerry Hunt, and Charlie Hunt.
The Visitation will be from 4 pm until 7 pm Thursday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The family requests that attendees wear masks.
