Joseph Kozma, 84

Joseph “Joe” Kozma of Spindale, NC, at the age of 84, left his earthly home and went to be with our Lord Jesus on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

Born in Somlóvásárhely, Hungary to his late parents Jozsef and Klara Kozma, Joseph was one of eight siblings. He escaped Hungary at the age of 17 on January 17, 1957, shortly after the Hungarian Uprising against the Soviet Union. He then moved to England where he worked as a chef in London. He attended textile college in England and Germany. Ultimately, Joe moved to the USA, worked hard, owned his own textile plant in New Jersey, was the Vice President of Philmark, Inc., and was a co-owner of Kozma Knits in South Carolina.

Joe is survived by sisters Margit Fabian, Klara Torkenczy, and Magdolna Csenki; daughters Lorna Williams, Catherine Hinkle (Paul), and Joan Kozma; grandchildren Ryan, Oliver, Charles, Maxwell, Nicole, and Danielle; and great grandchildren Brighton, Norah, Hailey, Matthew, Trelayne, and Savannah.

John 11:25-26 expresses Joe’s heart and hope as well as the heart and hope of his family: “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die.”

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Camp will officiate.
