John W. Jones, Sr.,74

Mr. John W. Jones, Sr., 74, of Forest City, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Oak Grove Nursing Center, Rutherfordton.
He was the son of the late Ralph and Kate Keever Jones, and was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Katie Lou Wells and Annie Bell Robbins, and 7 brothers, Arthur Lee Jones, Pink Jones, Clifford Jones, Jerry Jones, Charles Jones, Ray Keever, and Rev. David Jones. John was the co owner of Haynes-Jones Furniture Store for 27 years, and was a member of Sandy Mush Baptist Church. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
He is survived by his son, John W. Jones, Jr and wife Rhonda, of Spindale.; his daughter, Deborah Higginbotham and husband Jeff, of Forest City; the children's mother, Ramona Jones Ross; 2 sisters, Emma Sue Ayers of Ellenboro, and Joann Blankenship of Henrietta; 3 brothers, Bob Jones of Ellenboro, Perry Jones and Ted Jones, of Forest City; 6 grandchildren, Sydney Powell and husband Allen, Wesley Jones, Alana Bridges, Alec Bridges, Carrie Jones, and Caleb Jones; 2 great grandchildren, Quincey Powell and Emerson Jones; his sister-in-law, Linda Jones; and his brother-in-law, Floyd Wells.
The Funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Walls Baptist Church. The Rev. Perry Jones and Rev. David Philbeck will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Wesley Jones, Alec Bridges, Allen Powell, Jordan Putnam, George Robbins, Hunter Yates, and Cody McIntyre will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The Visitation will be from 5 pm until 8 pm Friday, February 10, 2017  at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
