John David Harrill, Jr.

John David Harrill Jr., 80, of Ellenboro, died Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

He was the son of the late John David Harrill Sr., and Eugenia McKinney Harrill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John David Harrill III. John was a longtime member of Ellenboro Fire Department and served a stint as Chief. He was retired from Aeroquip, and was a past member of the Forest City Lions Club and a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Flack Harrill; his daughters, Shaun Toney and her husband Shannon, of Ellenboro, and Ann Morgan and her husband Randy, of Albemarle; his grandchildren, Bethany Morgan, Bradley Morgan, Brittany Roberts, Rachel Hudson and Jamie, and Erika Brooks and Kayray; there are 12 great grandchildren.

The Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:30 pm Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. The Rev. Chris Glawson will officiate.
