Joe Carter, 79

Mr. Joe Carter, 79, of Cliffside, died Monday, June 17, 2019 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Hasten and Delores Wright Carter, and was also preceded in death by his brothers, James "Smiley" Carter and Thomas Albert Carter. Joe attended Fruitland Bible Institute, and was very dedicated and faithful to his church. He had recently been attending Gantt's Grove Baptist Church. He had retired from Dicey Fabrics.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Carter; his daughters, Delores Hamrick and husband Gary, of Ellenboro, and Donna Schwind and husband Robert, of Johnson City, TN; and his sister, Mattie Green of Bostic.
The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Gantt's Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Lane will officiate. Burial will follow in the Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Steve Green, Johnny Carter, Robbie Carter, Mark Carter, Wayne Carter, and Robert Schwind.  Gary Hamrick will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
The Visitation will be from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
