Jo Ann Walker
Ms. Jo Ann Walker, 66, of the Hollis Community, Ellenboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2015.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph Walker and Frances "Pat" Walker. Jo Ann was a graduate of East Rutherford High School and Western Carolina University. She spent her entire teaching career in the Rutherford County School system having taught at Cool Springs from 1972 to 1998, and East Rutherford Middle School from 1998 to 2004. Ms. Walker was a lifelong member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church. Those who knew her know what a kind and caring person she was, she was always the same and never complained.
Survivors include her companion, Steve Yelton; two sons, Steele Walker and his wife Lindsay of Ellenboro, and Justin Walker and his wife Andreia of Charlotte; a grandson, Ethan Walker; and a brother, Larry Walker of Ellenboro.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service. The Rev. Paul Scott will officiate. The burial will be a private service in the Hopewell Community Cemetery.
The Visitation will be following the funeral service on Sunday at the funeral home.
