Jim Wantuch, 71

Jim Wantuch, 71, of Bostic, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022

He was the son of the late Aloysius and Geraldine Wantuch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Wantuch.

Jim was born and raised in South Bend, IN. He attended college in Indiana and started a family in South Bend before moving to Rutherford County with his wife Linda and their 2 sons in 1978 to start up the Torrington Shiloh plant. Jim worked in the corporate world with Torrington and later AFA Corporation until he took early retirement. Jim and Linda then embarked on their dream  of running their own antique store. They opened "Dovetails and Rusty Nails" on Main Street and operated it for the last 20 years. Jim also co-owned Casper's Closet with his son. He was an active member of the Forest City Merchants Association where he enjoyed planning the Forest City car shows and Christmas parades over the years. He was a kind man - a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who always wore a contagious smile and a sympathetic heart. He was loved and will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Wantuch; his sons, Joseph Wantuch and his wife Karen, and Robert Wantuch; his grandchildren, Zachary and his wife Victoria, Courtney, Garret, Morgan, and Cooper Wantuch; and his great grandson, Turner Wantuch.

A Visitation will be held from 1 pm until 4 pm Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.

A brief service will be conducted at 4 pm Sunday after the visitation at the funeral home. The Rev. Andy Cilone will officiate.
