Jerry Daniel Searcy, 78, of Spindale, died Thursday, April 8, 2021.
Jerry was the son of the late Dan and Janie Searcy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Moore; and three brothers, Bryson Searcy, Alvin Searcy, and Edgar Searcy. He was a night watchman at Aeroquip for 15 years before his retirement. He was well known for his musical talent and singing, and the last group he performed with was Winners Either Way.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Fay Searcy; his 2 daughters, April Searcy Dorsey and husband Roman E. Dorsey of Spindale, and Janie Elizabeth Searcy of Rutherfordton; 2 sisters, Phillis Warren of Old Fort, and Vivian Wright of Ellenboro; a brother, Carl Searcy of Rutherfordton; his grandchildren, Stephen Dorsey, Kayla Searcy, Andre Mills, Austin Dorsey, Daniel Searcy, Hannah Dorsey, Kenya Henderson, and Shyhine Henderson; and his great grandchildren, Juelz Henderson, Aiden Nanney, and Ja'Kadrien Davis.
The Funeral will be conducted at 4:00 pm Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Neil Murray will officiate. Burial will follow in the Spindale City Cemetery. Pallbearers are A.J. Mills, Joe Huerta, Daniel Searcy, Shyhine Henderson, Stephen Dorsey, and Austin Dorsey.
The Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 3:45 pm Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
