Jeff Propes, 68

Jeff Propes, 68, of Golden Valley, died Saturday, April 26, 2025.

He was the son of Ethel Propes of Golden Valley and the late Leonard Propes. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janice Propes Scoggins; and two brothers-in-law, Andrew Scoggins and Tim Oliver. He was a member of Golden Valley Church.

He enjoyed canoeing down the Broad River, especially the midnight paddles. Loved watching the Dallas Cowboys win! He enjoyed watching all of the NASCAR races - went to the local races and always pulled for the Brackett's race car #77. He started out as a NC State basketball fan, but switched over to a Blue Devil fan - which made for an interesting game day when the Tarheels played Duke. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Karyn Oliver of Polkville; his niece, Melissa Scoggins; and two nephews, Gilbert Queen and Eric Queen.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:15 pm Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Golden Valley Church Cemetery, 1269 Golden Valley Church Road, Bostic.  The Rev. Tom Elkins and Rev. Kevin Towery will officiate. 

The Visitation will be from 1 pm until 2 pm Saturday in the church sanctuary.
