Melissa Jean McFarland Hill, 87

Melissa Jean McFarland Hill, 87, of Golden Valley, died Thursday, June 16, 2022.

She was the widow of Coy J. Hill, and a daughter of the late John and Eliza McFarland. She was also preceded in death by a son, Clyde Hill. Jean was a member of First Broad Baptist Church, and had worked for many years at both Shadowline in Morganton and Milliken in Golden Valley. 

She is survived by her son, Aundre Hill and his wife Lisa, of Golden Valley; a daughter-in-law, Donna Hill of Casar; her sister, Doris Jones of Golden Valley; her brother William McFarland of Casar; there are 3 grandchildren, William Hill of Casar, Brittany Hill Greene and her husband Daniel, Wesley J. Hill, all of Golden Valley; there are 4 great grandchildren, Landon Greene, Lucas Greene, Lawson Greene, and Addison Greene. 

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 19, 2022 at First Broad Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Chastain will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Daniel Greene, Tad Brackett, Tony Brackett, Kenny Hardin, Wesley Hill, and Shane Hardin.

The Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm Saturday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
