Janie Smith Burleson, 61

Janie Smith Burleson, 61, of Golden Valley, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC.

A native of Rutherford County, Janie was born on October 19, 1964. She enjoyed family gatherings, visiting with friends, attending church, going to the beach, and spending time with her great-niece, Julieanna. Janie was a familiar face at Diverse Corporate Technologies and she loved her job and coworkers. She was preceded in death by her father, Mack Smith and a brother, Marty Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Britten Burleson; her mother, Ann Kelley Smith; her brother Chris and his wife Kathy; her sister Julie; her brother Arthur and his wife Denise; her nephews Rusty and Mason; her nieces Brittany and Sarah; her great-niece Julieanna; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who were dear to her heart.

The Funeral will be conducted at 4:00 pm Monday, August 17, 2026 at Fairview Baptist Church. The Rev. David Ledford will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Chris Smith, Arthur Smith, Darin Smith, Randy Head, Gary Peters, Rusty Graham, Mason Smith, and Dylan Towery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Via Health Partners (formerly known as Hospice of Cleveland County) 7845 Little Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28226.
