Janice Propes Scoggins, 64

Janice Propes Scoggins, 64, of Golden Valley, died Friday, March 10, 2023.

Janice was the daughter of Ethel Propes of Golden Valley and the late Leonard Propes. She was also preceded in death by her husband Andrew Scoggins; and her brother-in-law Tim Oliver. She was a lifelong member of Golden Valley Church.

Janice was a loving and kind person in many ways: as a mother, grandmother and a teacher. She was amazing with kids, she devoted 27 years at Sunshine Elementary School. She also taught at Golden Valley Church doing lessons with kids and doing amazing crafts with them. Janice did many things for people in general: she was a music director at Golden Valley Church, she took her grandchildren everywhere, to the store, sports and school. Janice will be missed very deeply, and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Melissa Scoggins Todd and her husband Brandon, and Eric Queen all of Golden Valley, and Gilbert Queen and his wife Lynthia of Casar; her grandchildren, Blakely Scoggins, Brantley Todd, Destiny and Todd Coffey, Kirsten and Ray Littlejohn, Isaiah Queen, Keenan Todd and Brayden Todd; her sister, Karyn Oliver of Polkville; and her brother Jeff Propes of Golden Valley.

The Funeral will be conducted at 4:00 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Golden Valley Church. The Rev. Kevin Towery will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Isaiah Queen, Keenan Todd, Brayden Todd, Teddy Houser, Zach Houser, and Colby Harris.

The Visitation will be from 2 pm until 3:45pm Tuesday at the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ERHS Softball Booster Club, 331 East High Road, Bostic, NC 28018.
