James Bedford Brackett, 77

Mr. James Bedford Brackett, 77, of Forest City, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Hospice House, Forest City.
He was the son of the late Fred and Vonnie Brackett, and was also preceded in death by two brothers, George Brackett and Darl Brackett, Sr. James was a member of First Broad Baptist Church and a member of the Moose Lodge in Marion. As a over the road truck driver, he went 35 years accident free.
He is survived by his wife, Lela Brackett; two daughters, Carol Towery and her husband Dennis, of Orlando, FL, and Theresa Duffy and her husband Joseph, of Woodbine, GA: two sons, Stan Brackett and his wife Sharon, and Gene Brackett and his wife Lorie, all of Forest City; a sister, Carol Bumgarner and her husband D.C. of Golden Valley; a brother, Rodger Brackett and his wife Shirley of Golden Valley; there are 8 grandchildren, Tyler Towery, Brooke Towery, Travis Duffy, Brad Duffy, Brett Duffy, James Brackett, Sarah Brackett, Krystal Melton and her husband Justin; 4 great grandchildren, London Hird, Rome Hird, Kelsey Melton, and Jonathan Melton; there are several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 26, 2015 at First Broad Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Battle and Rev. Kevin Towery will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Robert Bradley officiating at the graveside service.  Pallbearers are Travis Duffy, Brad Duffy, Brett Duffy, Tommy McCurry, Dustin Edgerton, Randy Bumgarner, Danny Lantz, and Adam Murray; James Christopher Brackett will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Friday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
