J. O. Gettys
Mr. J.O. Gettys, 90, of Duncan's Creek Road, Ellenboro, died Saturday, July 2, 2011.
He was the son of the late Jimmy and Fannie Waters Gettys. He was a longtime employee of Cowan Tire & Battery. A member of First Broad Baptist Church, he was an US Army veteran, and a longtime resident of the Duncan's Creek Community.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Gettys; a son, Wayne Gettys of Bostic; a sister, Maude Melton of Casar; one grandchild.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 4, 2011 at Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Rev. Charles Battle and Rev. Kevin Towery will officiate. The Rutherford County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors.
