Henry McGinnis, 84

Henry McGinnis, 84, of Ellenboro, died Saturday, April 15, 2023.

He was the son of the late Paul and Mafrie Beaver McGinnis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Christine McGinnis; and his grandparents, Tom and Predia Beaver. He was a graduate of Sunshine High School Class of 1957. He was a retired truck driver, having served 15 years at Akers Motor Lines of Charlotte; and 27 years at Overnite Transportation of Gaffney. Henry was a lifetime member of ATA, and enjoyed trapshooting and working on his farm.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alma McGinnis; his five children, Henry McGinnis Jr. of Ellenboro, Danny McGinnis and his wife Beverly, of Ellenboro, Karen Wright and her husband Joey, of Ellenboro, David McGinnis and his wife Sharon of Kings Mountain, and Sharon Lail and her husband Don of Mooresboro; his grandchildren, Kristin Pearson and her husband Randall, Michael Wright and his wife Beth, all of Ellenboro, Craig McGinnis and his wife Kristin, of Charlotte, Brent McGinnis and Josh McGinnis, both of Cliffside, Dustin Parker of Kings Mountain, Daniel Lail, Thomas Lail, and Ethan Lail, all of Mooresboro; his great grandchildren, Deacon Pearson, Elin Pearson, Kat Wright, and Brice Williams.

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Tim Whiteside will officiate. Burial will follow in the Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Craig McGinnis, Michael Wright, Thomas Lail, Daniel Lail, Dustin Parker, and Randall Pearson.

The Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
