Mrs. Georgia Lee Cogdell Chapman, 77, of Sandy Level Church Road, Bostic, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Rebecca Hoyle Cogdell, and was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Bobby Ray Chapman and Jerry Dean Chapman; a sister, Betty Jo Pope; and two brothers, Rev. Odell Cogdell and Claude Cogdell. She was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church and was retired from Tanner Companies.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Jr. Chapman; two sons, Harold Chapman and his wife Renee, and Jimmy Chapman and his wife Deb, all of Forest City; her daughter, Jo Ann Maloney, and her husband Johnny of Sunshine; three sisters, Etta Hoyle of Bostic, Agnes Beam of Forest City, and Helen Baker of Morganton; five grandchildren, Tracy Chapman, Lester Maloney, Bobby Maloney, Amanda Byers, and Leslie Langley; ten great grandchildren, Mia Chapman, Victoria Chapman, Todd Maloney, Mackenzie Maloney, Alexis Moore, Kadence Maloney, Tara Maloney, Lucas Byers, Emma Byers, and Skylar Langley.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2013 at Sunshine United Methodist Church. Rev. Keys Pendleton and Rev. Don Freshour will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lester Maloney, Bobby Maloney, Todd Maloney, Tracy Chapman, Elliott Byers, and David Langley.
The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Thursday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
