George Cash, 74
Mr. George Cash, 74, of Bostic, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Hospice of The Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC. He has moved on to fish with the Lord.
He was born September 22, 1944 in Cleveland County, and was a son of the late Dugar and Evylan Cash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Charles and Allen Cash, and an infant daughter, Sheila Cash. George was a member of Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church and was retired from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department. After his retirement, he devoted his time to working and taking care of others. The joy of his life was spending time with his family and friends and going fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Sonya Franklin Cash; a son, Wyatt Lance Slagle; 3 daughters, Jennifer Taylor, Angela Buff, and Natasha Clark; he assisted in raising Renea and CJ; he has many grandchildren that he loved and adored; there are 5 brothers, Calvin Cash of Shelby, Carl Cash and wife Mary, of Winston-Salem, John Cash and wife Clara, of Honea Path, SC, Guy Cash and wife Wanda of Forest City, and David Cash and wife Sandra, of Foley, AL; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Allen Terry, Rev. Ted Blankenship, and Rev. Colby Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Guy Cash, Carl Cash, John Cash, David Cash, Lance Slagle, and Chris Cash. Calvin Cash and Austin Cash will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The Visitation will be from 1 pm until 2:45 pm Saturday at the church prior to the service.
