George Allen "Al" Spake
Mr. George Allen "Al" Spake, 77, of the Duncan's Creek Community, died Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.
He was the son of the late Kelly and Essie Cook Spake, and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Elva Abrams, Iva McClure and Evelyn Deviney; and two brothers, Gene Spake and Alvin Spake. He was a US Army veteran and attended Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ethylene Toney Spake; two daughters, Sylvia Shehan and her husband Dean, of the Duncan's Creek Community, and Teresa Dodson and her husband Eugene, of Ellenboro; a son, Tony Spake and his wife Margie, of the Golden Valley Community; a sister, Sue Lackey of Valdese; five grandchildren, Clint Dodson, Josh Dodson, Sabrina Gilliam, Mark Gilliam, and Nathan Edwards.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2011 at Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Rev. Ronald Brauer is to officiate.
The Visitation will be from 6 PM until 8 PM Sunday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
