Franklin Dan Jackson, 80, of Bostic, died Sunday, May 3, 2026 at his home after several years of declining health.

He was the son of the late Thomas Wayne Jackson and Marie Dalton Jackson was born in Rutherford County on February 2, 1946. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Danny Ray Jackson; and a sister, Freida Barrier; and 4 brothers, Tommy, John Wayne, William, and Ronnie Jackson. His long career included many years at PPG and Cone Mills. Franklin loved spending time with his son Frankie, attending races and other sporting events almost weekly when he was healthy. When his health declined, they watched races and other sports on TV together every Sunday afternoon. He enjoyed all outdoor activities, yard work, boating, fishing, baseball, hunting and especially golfing with his brothers. 

He is survived by his wife, Nancy McDaniel Jackson; his son Dennis Frank Jackson and his wife Michelle of Bessemer City; his sister, Martha Hawkins of Mooresboro; two brothers, Charles Jackson and his wife Amy of Mooresboro, and Jerry Jackson and his wife Trudy of Boiling Springs, SC; his beloved sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins; special "sister" and caregiver Joanne Goforth; a special niece, Mandy; a special nephew, Logan; and his best buddy, Thor. 

A Visitation will be held from 3 pm until 5 pm Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.

Private burial of the urn will occur later at First Baptist Church of Bostic Cemetery.
