Evelyn Grindstaff, 90
Mrs. Evelyn Barrier Grindstaff, 90, of Forest City, died Thursday, November 21, 2019.
She was the widow of Harry Grindstaff, and a daughter of the late Commodore and Lola Singleton Barrier. She was also preceded in death by a son, Arthur Grindstaff, and a brother, Roy Barrier. Evelyn was a member of First Baptist Church of Bostic.
She is survived by 5 sons, Larry Grindstaff and wife Lota, Edward Grindstaff, Ronnie Grindstaff, and Stanley Grindstaff and wife Gail, all of Forest City, and Dennis Grindstaff of Bostic; her 2 daughters, Brenda Davidson and Debra Hester both of Forest City; 2 brothers, Dale Barrier and wife Gina, and Thomas Barrier, all of Morganton; her sister, Jackie Clark of Jonas Ridge; and 7 grandchildren, Chris Davidson, Eric Hester, Jr., Sarah Grindstaff, Ashley Grindstaff, Faith Grindstaff, Daniel Grindstaff, and Molly Grindstaff.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 25, 2019 at Green Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, 200 Skyhook Lane, Spruce Pine. The Rev. Clay Earle will officiate. Pallbearers are Ronnie Grindstaff, Dennis Grindstaff, Edward Grindstaff, Stanley Grindstaff, Christopher Davidson, and Michael Grindstaff.
The Visitation will be from 10 am until 11 am Monday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 or First Baptist Church of Bostic, PO Box 225, Bostic, NC 28018.
