Dorothy Boone Harrill, 95

Dorothy Boone Harrill, 95, of Bostic, died Sunday, August 2, 2026.

She was widow of Lem Harrill, and a daughter of the late Henry and Alice Boone. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her son, Hitus Harrill. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bostic. She worked in textiles and was a housewife. 

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Alice Gonzalez and her husband Benito, of DeRidder, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Andrew Harrill and his wife Kyna of Bostic, David Harrill and his wife Jaira of Ellenboro, Dwight Gonzalez and his wife Celestia of Louisiana, and Annetta Sue Ewald and her husband Samuel of Minnestoa; there are four great grandchildren, Aric Ewald, Adelyn Ewald, Brynleigh Harrill, and Briar Harrill; and a host of great nieces and nephews; great niece Lori Robbins and her husband Marty, and daughters Maggie and Abbie, as well as extended family and friends. 

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 8, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Bostic. The Rev. Clay Earle will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Andrew Harrill, David Harrill, Dwight Gonzalez, Stanley Upton, Marty Robbins, Chad Medford, and Bill Yount. 

The Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm Saturday at the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rutherford County Humane Society, PO Box 998, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 or the Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue, 380 US 221 North Highway, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
