Denton "Cowboy" Dalton, 88

Denton "Cowboy" Dalton, 88, of Forest City, died Wednesday, October 12, 2022.

He was the son of the late Samuel and Maudie Dalton. Denton retired from PPG Industries and served in the Army during the Korean war. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Wyatt; his sister, Grenada Dalton; his 6 brothers, Ostell, Adrian, O'Neil, Pernell, Daniel, and Buren Dalton.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; his daughter, Katherine Craig and her husband Daniel, of Rutherfordton; his sons, Harold Dean Dalton and his wife Nancy, of Lawndale, Ronald Dalton and his wife Pam, Donald Dalton, and Roger Dalton and his wife Valerie, all of Rutherfordton; his stepdaughter, Maryanne Riffle and her husband Dale, of Pigeon Forge, TN; there are 16 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, and many great great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Sandy Level Baptist Church . The Rev. Aaron Stroupe will officiate. The Rutherford County Honor Guard will render the Military Rites.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38150.
