Darlus Blankenship

Mrs. Darlus Smith Blankenship, 93, of Forest City, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Hospice House, Forest City.
She was the widow of Calvin Lee Blankenship, who died in 1963. She was the daughter of the late Julius and Gina Smith, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Reynolds. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by her daughter, Mildred Gordon of Forest City; three sons, Robert Wayne Blankenship of Mayo, SC, Coy Lee Blankenship of Rutherfordton, and Hershel Blankenship of Golden Valley; there are 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, and several great great great grandchildren.
The Funeral will be conducated at 2:00 pm Friday, October 25, 2013 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Bill Chapman will officiate. Burial will follow in the First Broad Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Michael Hoyle, Matthew Gordon, Robert Queen, Robert Blankenship, Jr., Martin "BJ" Martin, and Tyler Martin.
The Visitation will be from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm Friday at Washburn & Dorsey, prior to the service.
