Colene Melton, 91

Hazel Colene Melton, 91, of Bostic, died Saturday, September 23, 2023.

She was the widow of Guy Walter Melton, and a daughter of the late Carl and Emma Sisk. Colene was also preceded in death by a son, Steve Melton. She was a member of Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church where she had served as their pianist, was a Sunday School teacher and on the Ladies Auxillary.

She is survived by her son, Doug Melton and his wife Wendy of Broadway; her daughters, Judy Crotts and her husband Barry, and Jo Ann Taylor, all of Shelby, and Janice Stankiewicz her husband Bill, of Raleigh; her sisters, Patsy Wright of Rutherfordton and Ina Faye Bailey of Ellenboro; there are 12 grandchildren,17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  

The Funeral will be conducted at 12:00 pm Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Scotty Keeter  and Rev. Colby Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Braxton Melton, Seth Melton, Jeremy Taylor, Vincent Stankiewicz, Andy Van Dyke, and Justin Melton. 

The Visitation will be from 4 pm until 7 pm Monday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
