Mr. Cecil Carroll Swink, 86, of Bostic, died Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Hospice of The Carolina Foothills, Forest City.
He was the son of the late Peter Lee Swink and Macy Carrie Guffey Swink, and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Swink. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bostic for over 50 years, where he served as a Deacon. He served in the US Army and the National Guard, where he retired after 20 years of service. Cecil retired from Gilkey Lumber Company. Cecil was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with family and watching Atlanta Braves Baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha Beheler Swink; his son Jeff Swink and wife Luann, of Bostic; his daughter, Marsha Neidert and husband Tim, of Bostic; his grandson, Chad Sneed of Bostic; 2 granddaughters, Christy Roberson and husband Bo, of Cliffside, and Brittany Pope and husband Justin, of Bostic; his foster son, Tom McCallister and wife Riki, of Denver, CO; there are 7 great grandchildren, Abbey Roberson, Wade Sneed, Isaac Roberson, Riley Sneed, Rebecca Roberson, Logan Sneed, and Maddux Roberson.
The Funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Bostic. The Rev. Clay Earle will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Chad Sneed, Bo Roberson, Isaac Roberson, Wade Sneed, Riley Sneed, and Logan Sneed. Maddux Roberson will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
The Visitation will be from 5 pm until 8 pm Monday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
