Carolyn Pope Murray, 76

Carolyn Pope Murray, 76, of Sunshine, passed way Sunday morning, January 28, 2024 at 1:45 am.

She was the widow of Richard Murray to whom she was married for 54 years, and was a daughter of the late Ed and Lucy Pope. Carolyn was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She also enjoyed researching the Pope and Murray family history. She loved to reminisce of childhood years with grandpa at a place called "The Old Place".

She is survived by her sons, Joey Murray and his wife Betty Jo of Anderson, SC, and Charlie Murray and his wife Ester, of Sunshine; her cousins, Larry Pope, Caroline Pope, and Mary Lou Pope all of Sunshine, Iris Bright of Charlotte, Debbie Tenery of Mocksville; she was a loving grandmother of 5 grandchildren, Charlie Murray Jr., Brooke Priester, Dakota Murray, Jessica Valladarez, and Alan Hernandez; and 3 great grandchildren, Kamryn and Declan Priester, and Camila Valladarez; a cousin, Waynette Wells.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Sandy Level Baptist Church. The Rev. Robbie Hensley will officiate.

Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends in the church sanctuary.
