Mr. Bob Shepard, 81, of Bostic Sunshine Hwy, Sunshine, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at Willow Ridge Nursing Center.
He was the son of the late Willie and Irene Hastings Shepard. Bob was a Korean War Veteran and a member of First Broad Baptist Church. He retired from WNC Florist and was a member of the Hollis Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Sudie Mae Jenkins Shepard; two daughters, Joy Baldwin and her husband Dwayne, of Forest City, and Renae Karriker and her husband John, of Statesville; four sisters, Betty Bell of Kings Mountain, Phyllis Shepard of Sunshine, Ellen Hudson and Gail Yelton, both of Golden Valley;  a brother, James Shepard of Sweetwater,TN: there are five grandchildren, Holly M. Sutton and her husband Mitchell, Ashley K.Latva and her husband Norman, Heather M. Munn and her husband Mickey, Danielle M. Greene and her husband SSGT Jonathan Greene, and Evan Karriker; there are four great grandchildren, Dylan Sutton, Madilyn Murray, Bailey Greene, and Sophie Greene.
Military Rites will be at 2:45 pm Thursday, May 16, 2013 on the grounds of Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service and rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday at Washburn & Dorsey, following the conclusion of the Military Rites. Rev. Robert Bradley will officiate.
A Visitation will be held following the chapel service until 5:00 pm.
