Alvin Yelton, 73

Alvin Bruce Yelton, 73, of Golden Valley, passed away, November 28, 2025.

He was born on Tuesday, June 10, 1952 in Rutherford County, and was the son of the late J.E. and Prue Yelton. He was also preceded in death by siblings Wanda Tuck and Jasper Yelton Sr.. Growing up in Rutherford County, he was a loyal member of Fairview Baptist Church and a graduate of East Rutherford High School. He worked at Milliken Corporation for 45 years where he retired from the maintenance department. He loved spending time with his family and in his spare time he enjoyed working Mahjong and Sudoku word puzzles. 

He is survived by his wife, Janie Yelton; his sons, Kelly Yelton and his wife Harriett, and Russell Yelton, all of Golden Valley, and Darrell Yelton and his wife Crystal, of Spotsylvania, VA; his siblings, Judy Hinson of Cherryville, and David Yelton and his wife Ida Mae, of Golden Valley; his grandchildren, Jacob Yelton and his wife Sara of Fredericksburg, VA, Bailey Yelton and his wife Summer of Fort Polk(US Army base), LA, Cheyenne Yelton Whitehead and her husband Austin, of Charlotte, Jennifer Yelton of Bostic, and Cotton Yelton and Whisper Yelton, of Spotsylvania, VA; his great grandchildren, Shane, Angelina, Rosalee, and Cash of Charlotte, and Easton and Kimber of Bostic. 

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, December 1, 2025 at Fairview Baptist Church. The Rev. David Ledford will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Jacob Yelton, Cotton Yelton, Arthur Smith, Brady Yelton, Bobby Barringer, and Marc Barringer. 

The Visitation will be from 11:30 am until 1;45 pm Monday at the church prior to the service.
