Alfred Freeman, 81

Alfred George Freeman, 81, of Forest City, died Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

He was the son of the late George Baxter Freeman and Duliette Norville Freeman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Freeman; and sisters-in-law Sylvia Freeman and Martha Freeman. Alfred was in the last graduating senior class at Sunshine School in 1962. He was a Army National Guard veteran, a Deacon at Adaville Baptist Church, and volunteered with Meals On Wheels. He retired from Gerber Children's Wear. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mae Ramsey Freeman; his sons, Rodney Alfred Freeman and his wife Kendra, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and  Michael George Freeman and his wife Lynn, of Simpsonville, SC; his brothers, Billy Freeman, Russell Freeman and his wife Lisa, all of Bostic, and Lewis Freeman of Forest City; his sisters, Mary Kate Toney and her husband Bill,  Annette Lane and her husband Russell, all of Bostic, and Lois Scruggs and her husband Eddie, of Forest City; grandchildren, Emily Nicole Freeman of Superior Township, MI, Kacie Michelle Abila and her husband Christian of Lynchburg, VA, Kellie Diahn Freeman of Richmond, VA,  Nathan Thomas Freeman of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Charlie Michael Freeman of Simpsonville,SC ; and  sisters-in-law, Kathy Freeman of Bostic and Ann Freeman of Spindale.

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Adaville Baptist Church. Dr. Jeff Pate will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

The Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm Sunday in the church prior to the service.
