We are sad you are gone but happy you are with Jesus. We imagine you wrapped up in a big hug from your mama! You are loved and will be missed by your "workshop" family and friends.

David you were a special friend and I am so glad we made a lot of happy memories together! You taught me to live life to the fullest one day at a time. I feel your love and thanks to us for making the last three years your happiest. And we thank you for making our lives richer from what we learned from you. How in the world am I going to know what day of the week it is if you don't tell me or whose birthday is coming up .....?

You would always ask me before a field trip at workshop or beach trip with Kathy A., if I wanted to go with you. This time I do, but I'll take the next van and meet up with you later. You got it ?

David... I'm so happy that I had the opportunity to get to know you. Working with you at RLS and coming to help take care of you at home. It was a joy. You are a special sweet person and will be missed... And even though we are sad because you left. We can also be happy that you are in your brand new heavenly body free of pain and suffering... And in the arms of our Father...

To the strongest bravest person I have ever known. You met every challenge of your life head on. You never complained. You were willing to try all our (Shelia) crazy ideas to make your life easier a little better and a little longer. I know you went to heaven in the arms of your mom. No more pain my sweet boy no more sorrow. You can go to the beach anytime you want. Sit in the front of the train behind the conductor and smile as the wind touches your face and the sunshine warms your skin. All my love! Your biggest fan!

Oops, David as you would tell me I'm bonkers. I forgot to help you thank all those who helped you on your journey. You were always so considerate and kind to thank us for whatever we did for you, no matter how small the task was.

You thank Andy for facilitating your Daddy and Mama's arrangements they had set up for you and Terry to remain in your home. I know your heart is bursting with love for Amanda and Rutherford Life Services for granting all your wishes you made known to them and even more that you didn't even have to tell them. (Thanks to Mary , Alicia, Sylvia, Sue, Susan, and all the staff and clients that made you happy.) And to Znada, your girlfriend, you send your love. Thanks to Tony Spencer and Cheerful Voices Choir at the workshop that you so proudly participated in!

You send great gratitude to the home team I put together to meet your needs at home: Kathy, Brente, Alicia, Jamie, Susan, Sonya, Jennifer, and Elizabeth. You blessed their lives more than you'll ever know by the love and appreciation you showed them for making your life comfortable and carefree. ( I know if you were helping me now you wouldn't let me forget any names, but I'm having to do this without you.)

You can't find the words to express to Terri (Hospice) how much you loved her and her reassurance and love she gave to you and us as well. Every week she checked in on you at the workshop, you would tell me that she gave you a 'checkup' and I'd ask if it was a good one and you'd proudly say "Yep, it was.", like you a passed a test! She was your guardian angel through your illness.

To James, Miles , and Todd your van drivers you send a thank you very much for taking to you to the place your heart lived for Rutherford Life Services! Not one night before you left here that you didn't want your lunchbox packed for work the next day!

Oh my goodness David, what a big part of Sheila's heart you have filled for the last 12 years. She has told me every adventure that you shared and I feel like I experienced it with you. You know that besides your Mama, no one could have loved and protected you more.

Her heart is in a few pieces, but slowly mending with you and Jesus sending her comfort and joy in knowing that you are well and riding every stallion you can through heaven! You both were blessed to be able to share a part of life together and I am honored to have shared her with you .

I am so going to miss my bedtime calls to you, Sheila and Terry to make sure all were
ready for bed! You and I thought it was funny that back in 2013 after my heart attack that the first thing you asked me was if you could come to my "funeral" and instead of saying Hello when we spoke you would say "heart attack". I hope I remember to close hen house, feed Daisy, and go to bed without you reminding me. Now when I call to check on Sheila and Terry, you will be on the line with me, blessing them to have a restful night.

My life has been so blessed knowing David. He always had the sweetest smile. No matter what the situation. He never complained. I have so many memories of visiting with him at the workshop. It was a definite highlight of my week. Knowing that you are in Heaven with your moma makes the hurt less. Thank you to Sheila and all the ladies who cared for David at home. I always knew he was in good hands. I never had to worry. My life has been blessed with knowing this sweet man who I will always treasure the giggles and smiles. Fly high sweet fella ❤️
